Accounts Assistant – with huge potential for quick promotion

£17,000 – 22,000

Are you looking for a new exciting and varied role with the added potential of a quick promotional opportunity arising?  We are a well-established Waste and Recycling Equipment company in the UK offering on the job training and extensive opportunities for you to progress your career within our growing company. Due to reorganisation we are looking to recruit the services of an experienced Accounts Assistant to work in our Head Office in South Molton, Devon.  The successful candidate will be very extremely self-driven and want to progress quickly up the chain to manage the accounts department and staff within.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the current Finance Manager and Directors
  • Monthly Management Accounts preparation, monitoring and reporting to the Directors
  • Preparation of VAT Returns
  • Sales Ledger: invoicing, statements, credit control
  • Budget and spending control; preparation, maintenance, monitoring and reviewing
  • Reviewing and renewing contracts for services (telephones, electric etc)
  • Assisting junior members of the team in their role, development and training
  • Answering enquiries by telephone, email and in person

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • AAT qualifications or equivalent accounts experience/knowledge essential
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts, Excel and Word documents
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with self-motivation
  • Gives 100% and produces high quality work under pressure
  • Efficient, organised and adaptable with a positive friendly approach and can-do attitude
  • You will be a highly motivated individual, effective communicator and a strong team player
  • Accuracy and a keen eye for detail is crucial along with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Willingness to listen and learn attitude, as well as the need to take on more responsibility
  • Ability to think laterally and question the status quo

The Package:

In return, we offer an exceptional salary and package consisting of £17,000 – £22,000 salary, 20 days’ holiday rising to 25 days plus bank holidays, pension, parking, personal legal fee assistance, training and an exceptional opportunity for growth within the company.
